With FC Barcelona ten points clear at the top of Spanish La liga, you would not think that much change is needed in the team. However the following are some of the key players Fc Barcelona have been linked with to bring in during the summer to make the team even stronger for next season.
Cesc Fabregas
Fabregas started his career in the youth ranks of Fc Barcelona, but moved to Arsenal because of a lack of opportunity. Fabregas in now ranked as one of the best young midfielders in the world, and has been pulling the strings in the midfield at Arsenal since he was eighteen. With Arsenal struggling to finish in a Champions League spot in England, Fabregas has stated his desiree to return to his boyhood club on numerous occasions. All signs are pointing to Fabregas returning and taking his place in Fc Barcelona's world class midfield.
Fernando Torres
Ranked as one of the best strikers in the world for his performances for Liverpool, and The Spanish National Team. Fernando Torres would be the ideal replacement for the slightly controversial Samuel Eto'o. Torres has Plenty of Pace, has lots of skill with the ball at his feet, is good in the air, is lethal with both feet, and has the finisher's instinct that cannot be taught. Recently at the England versus Spain game Torres and FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta had a conversation about Torres making the move to the Camp Nou. Although it would be very difficult for FC Barcelona to convince Liverpool to sell such an important player, Torres would be the perfect fit to the Blaugrana.
David Villa
Top scorer of at the European Championships and in second place in the Golden Boot race in Spain, David Villa is a target of FC Barcelona. With Valencia in financial trouble, the club may be forced to sell their world class striker. Rumors coming out of Barcelona have suggested that an offer has been put together to send Valencia's way as soon as the summer transfer market is open. Villa could replace the aging Henry on the left or could play in the middle. Villa would bring even more speed to the already pacey Barcelona front line.
David Silva
The skillful midfielder was a standout in the European Championships, and was courted by Fc Barcelona last summer. A transfer came close to happening, but fell through at the last moment with Valencia not being willing to part with such an important player. Valencia's financial problems may factor into whether or not Silva makes the move To Fc Barcelona this summer. With a style similar to Andres Iniesta and Xavi, Silva would be a perfect addition to the Fc Barcelona midfield.
Yoann Gourcuff
Gourcuff's recent performances for Bordeaux have attracted the attention of Fc Barcelona. The Ac Milan man was sent on loan to Bordeaux for more playing time, and has taken full advantage of his opportunity, being a star of high flying Boedeaux, and even gaining a start for the French National team in a recent game against Argentina. Convincing Milan to sell this hot prospect may be a little easier than thought, thanks to the Ronaldinho deal last summer. At the age of twenty-two, Gourcuff could be the perfect replacement for Henry, and could prove to be a future star of the Blaugrana.
Franck Ribery
After a great performance in the last World Cup, and leading Bayern Munich to the German Bundesliga Championship, Franck Ribery has become a world class player. Fc Barcelona has been keeping close tabs on the winger, especially after Ribery claimed his fondness for a move to Fc Barcelona. Bayern Munich has stated they may be willing to sell Ribery if the price is right. With rumors of Henry's departure, the Speedy winger is a major option for Fc Barcelona to add class to their squad for next season.
Phillip Lahm
A player linked with Fc Barcelona on and off again, this left back could bring his attacking minded play to the Blaugrana. With Eric Abidal's hot and cold streaks, and struggles going forward, the short speedy Lahm could add to Fc Barcelona what Dani Alves gives them on the right.
Bruno Alves
Recent reports coming out of Spain have stated that a deal may already be in place for the Portuguese defender to make the move to the Camp Nou over the summer.
